Consolidator Fellowships Global South
Consolidator Fellowships Global South are generally aimed at postdocs. As a Consolidator Fellow, you will spend a whole year (October 1 to September 30 of the following year) at the Historisches Kolleg in Munich. The fellowship offers you an atmosphere of concentrated tranquility in which you will have the opportunity to complete a second book.
The aim of the scholarship is to promote international exchange. The Consolidator Fellowship Global South is therefore aimed at applicants from the Global South, especially from Africa.
As a Consolidator Fellow, you will receive a monthly stipend based on the German W2 salary scale.
You will work in a bright and spacious office in the Kaulbachvilla. This is located in a prime location and in close proximity to important institutions in Munich’s scientific community, such as the Bavarian State Library, Ludwig Maximilian University, and the Bavarian Main State Archives.
You will live in the Kaulbachvilla, and the team at the Historisches Kolleg will provide you with comprehensive support before and during your stay.
Grants are available for any necessary (short) trips to archives and libraries.
We offer joint activities in and around Munich, some of which are organized in cooperation with partner institutions. Participation is optional.
You are distinguished by outstanding research achievements and are working on an innovative and well-advanced book project that you will complete during your fellowship and publish within a reasonable period of time.
As a fellow, you will provide insights into your research project in an evening lecture. The lectures will be recorded afterwards and published in the media library of the Historisches Kolleg and on the Gerda Henkel Foundation’s L.I.S.A. research portal.
