Application Process and Selection Procedure
The Historisches Kolleg offers four different fellowships for which you can apply. All scholars working in historical disciplines are eligible to apply.
From submission to decision on your application
The call for applications for year-long fellowships is issued in December and runs until April 30 of the following year. After the application deadline, the members of the Historical College’s Board of Trustees review all application documents. A final decision on the awarding of fellowships is made in the fall.

Curriculum vitae (CV)
List of publications
Work plan (max. 15 pages), which should contain detailed information on the following points in particular:
- Nature and objective of the project
- Detailed description of the status of preparatory work already completed (partial manuscript or precise, meaningful outline)
- half-page summary of the book project,
- planned archive and library visits,
- names of institutions and researchers with whom the applicant will collaborate in Munich
Explanations regarding the required living space.
- Additionally, when applying for an Advanced Fellowship: Topic of the colloquium or workshop.
- When applying for Honorary Fellowship: Work plan (max. 5 pages)
