Kolloquium von Prof. Dr. Mark H\u00e4berlein<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Im Vorfeld des 250. Jahrestags der Unabh\u00e4ngigkeit der Vereinigten Staaten und knapp 50 Jahre nach Horst Dippels grundlegender Studie zu den Auswirkungen der Amerikanischen Revolution auf Deutschland nimmt diese Tagung die Frage nach der Resonanz des Unabh\u00e4ngigkeitskriegs und der Staatsgr\u00fcndung der USA im deutschsprachigen Raum erneut auf. Sie fragt danach, wie verschiedene Akteure und Akteursgruppen \u2013 Staatsm\u00e4nner, Diplomaten, Gelehrte, Literaten, Geistliche, Unternehmer, Offiziere der deutschen Subsidientruppen \u2013 die Entwicklung in Nordamerika wahrnahmen und auf welche Pers\u00f6nlichkeiten und Ereignisse sich die Rezeption konzentrierte. Da ephemere und periodische Publikationen dank etlicher Digitalisierungsprojekte heute wesentlich besser erschlossen und leichter zug\u00e4nglich sind als noch vor ein oder zwei Jahrzehnten, wird ein weiterer Schwerpunkt der Tagung auf der Berichterstattung in den zeitgen\u00f6ssischen Medien liegen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
